Job Description

College of the North Atlantic’s Labrador West Campus is currently seeking applications from qualified individuals to fill short-term staffing requirements that may arise from sick leave, vacation leave, or an increase in operational demands. This position would be casual in nature; hours will vary; and the successful candidate must be available on short notice. Candidates must be flexible in order to meet operational needs.DUTIES: Working within Student Services, the Clerk Typist III will perform frontline administrative duties that include the first point of contact for students, faculty and general public. Primarily, this will include performing daily cashier duties; maintaining cashier reports; accessing PeopleSoft to process application fees; create student profiles; and receiving all College fees for Labrador West campus. This individual will be responsible for liaising with Admissions staff both within the Labrador West Region and all other campuses; answer emails and phone inquiries; maintain and update the accommodation list for the St. John’s region; requisitions; participate in monthly Registrar meetings; participate in semester registration; create and maintain appointments for Counselling staff; maintaining graduation registration list and participate in ticket distribution of tickets both prior and on the day in question; completing all written requests in the form of Letters, CPP and Education Funds. The Clerk Typist III will also perform other related duties as it pertains to the operation of the Student Service Department and will serve and perform the functions of the Head cashier during absences of same. Performs other related duties.QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a knowledge of administrative and office procedures as well as knowledge of various computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred. Candidates must possess initiative and be able to demonstrate effective organizational, time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently. It is also required that candidates demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member. These qualifications are acquired through completion of a Diploma in Office Administration, supplemented by experience in a similar administrative role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.Job Type: CasualSalary: $23.13-$25.60 per hourSchedule:
