Job Description

AWC Water Solutions Ltd. specializes in providing integrated water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants. Along with this specialisation, AWC also has experience in many other industrial packaged solutions.Clients are offered advanced in-house consulting, engineeringamp; design; with 3D modeling, piloting, fabrication (including machining and control panel fabrication/ assembly), system testing and a full range of field services. AWC is an equal opportunity employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.AWC are seeking a qualified Intermediate Instrumentation and Control (I amp;C) Engineer/Specialist experienced in the engineering/ fabrication/ construction setting with a focus on instrumentation selection and process control design. This is an opportunity to be part of a team experiencing significant growth. Equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience will be considered.Duties and responsibilities:

  • Able to develop process control automation to be shown on Pipingamp; Instrumentation Diagrams (P amp;IDs) per ISA Standards
  • Able to perform instrumentation sizing calculations for the selection of control valves, relief valves, regulators, flow devices, etc.
  • Development of the Control Narratives complete with: control loop writeups with sketches, preliminary PID control settings, alarm reconciliation, Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphical requirements and interfaces with 3rd party equipment
  • Develop the Causeamp; Effect (Shutdown Keys) Diagrams for projects
  • Able to develop the Range, Alarm, Trips and Settings (RATS) List
  • Development of datasheets for all types of instrumentation including analysers
  • Development of Material Requisitions for instrumentation including analysers
  • Develops control system architecture for water/wastewater treatment plants, as well as a variety of other turnkey industrial process packages
  • Can review wiring design of control panels, MCC equipment interfaces and systems design
  • Travel to project sites may be required, 0-10% of time, for brownfield scope development, scope alignments, trouble shooting, commissioning and support
  • Participates in the factory acceptance tests for control panels and site if required
  • Although not responsible for PLC and SCADA/RTU programming, must be able to troubleshoot problems with automation technicians
  • Partners with internal/external key stakeholders (e.g., internal engineering/design/fabrication teams and subcontractors and Clients) to identify and resolve issues pro-actively and just-in-time
  • Delivers exceptional service to clients and is Client Centric
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in I amp;C engineering and design
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Eng registration (or seeking registration) in Western Canada would be an advantage
  • Experience with a variety of DCSs and PLCs, preferably with Allen Bradley
  • Experience in sizing, selecting and material requisition development for instrumentation
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and pride in delivering high quality results
  • Excellent communication (verbalamp; written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Interest in continuous learning
  • Must be authorised to work in country where the position is located
