STELIA North America is recruiting for a Financial Controller at its Lunenburg Nova Scotia location.Role DescriptionReporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as our Financial Controller, you are well versed in communicating with a diverse group of people and have the ability to clarify complex financial information. With your keen eye for detail, you are able to ensure accurate and timely month end and year-end financial statement preparation. You are focused on targets and deadlines leading to timely month end and year end reporting to the parent company. You understand the importance of daily cash flow and treasury management and will be responsible for the management of the annual audit process. You will be focused on efficiency and process improvements for the accounting and reporting functions. You clearly understand financial controlling and will partner with teams to set and achieve financial targets. With your professional demeanour and team focus, you will work with the team to execute plans to optimize financial performance.Your responsibilities will include:Perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to support control of the organization #39;s financial resources and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.Preparation of annual audited statements, including note disclosures.Responsible for all areas relating to accounting and financial reporting.Ensure the monthly and annual Compliance reporting activities to Customers, Banks and Government agencies are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Support budget and forecasting activities. Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making and assist in the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls. Provide advice and guidance on accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis and reporting.Work with managers on a regular basis to review monthly departmental performance, as well monitor monthly budgets and forecasts. Your Qualifications are:Degree in Business Administration, Finance and/or Accounting and/or equivalent experience.Professional Designation such as a CPA.Minimum of 5 years of prior leadership experience in the financial reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or in public accounting with significant exposure to clients in the manufacturing or construction space.Ability to interpret financial information and turn it in to practical business planning and advice.Ability to prioritize, with attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information.Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.) Ability to work well in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
