Job Description

To ensure quality production of vegetative propagation orders and transplanting of sprout flatsThis role is seasonal from April 1 to November 30 each year

  • Oversees the vegetative production assignments as per Head Grower
    • Tracks production on daily traveler and reports results to Head Grower
    • Keeps a team of workers on task and efficiently performing production tasks for each assigned project
    • Ensure staff are adhering to proper break times
    • Enforce the proper use of PPE
    • Ensures all production requirements on the daily traveler are met and communicated to the crew
    • Ensures vegetative production is being done as per protocol provided by the Head Grower
    • Keeps track of production on daily traveler
    • Communicates any minor or major issue with the plant material in a timely manner to the Head Grower
    • Ensures that the proper prescribed soil mix is being used for the vegetative production
    • Notifies Head Grower when running low on supplies needed to complete the job in a timely fashion
  • Assists with when needed
    • Stratification checks as per the Senior Grower One or Head Grower
    • Any and all clean up
    • Monitoring crop
    • Any and all inventory
    • Training new staff on tools and equipment used for vegetative production and transplanting
    • SWP training and review when needed
    • Harvesting crops
    • Dormant cutting collection in the fall
  • Maintenance of Mother Plants
    • Root pruning
    • weeding pots
    • moving to overwintering location at end of season
    • reporting plant health, pests and inventory of mother plants to Head Grower
