  • Paid internship, approximately a 4 month position depending on start date, April-August, with opportunities to return and progress into a long term position
  • Working in the field doing a wide variety of tasks: GPS traversing, data collection, timber reconnaissance, riparian assessments, lichen surveys, etc
  • Skills that you will come away with: map reading and field navigation, using GPS, using ATVs, driving on bush roads, safety skills and problem-solving in isolated conditions
  • Working in a dynamic office with young professionals
  • Exposure to sawmill, power plant, forest harvest systems, silviculture, engineering
Requirements
  • Must have a class 5 drivers license
  • Preference will be given to those enrolled in, or graduates of, a forestry or natural resource program
  • A love of the outdoors – this position involves significant field work
  • Ability to spend a week in a logging camp setting
  • Ability to work within a team environment and independently
  • Knowledge of applicable BC legislation and policies
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to communicate verbally and in writing
