Job description:Several positions of Project Test Manager for Hardware Flight Equipment are now open in Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area) for different Space business: Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites). Definitely, we are moved by our passion to make it fly!Functionally, the Candidate is also part of the Project, with the main mission of developing/designing electronic units for flight equipment to achieve the unit delivery in accordance with project schedule, cost and quality requirements. In a day-to-day basis, she/he will report to Project Manager.Within each project, the Test Manager is the Responsible of the Validation of the design acting as a key role of the Project Team. The Candidate will work very closely to the Technical Manager, together with the Project Manager, Product Assurance Manager, the Industrial Manager, the Validation Manager and the EEE/PCB manager.The Test Manager’s tasks comprise the complete development of an electronic equipment: from the analysis of the requirements in the Negotiation Phase to the acceptance campaign of the flight deliverables, once successfully pass the qualification of the unit.For this purpose, the Candidate will lead a team of test engineers and technicians responsible of the validation of the Flight Unit, aligned with Project and Team objectives.Task and accountabilities:The successful applicant will be in charge of the following tasks:

• Active participation in the technical discussions with the customer during the Negotiation Phase, prior to formal kick-off of the project up to the in flight operations of the Space System.
• Assist to the Project Manager in the requirement assessment and in the risk identification.
• Close collaboration with the Technical Manager in the definition of the architecture of the Flight Unit based on the project requirements to optimize it and the Ground Equipment designs focusing on a Design for testing philosophy. This task will be performed in close co-engineering with other stakeholders (FPGA, Mechanical, Thermal, Materials and Processes, EEE, Radiation).
• Lead the requirement assessment to define the EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) architecture.
• Perform technical review of the schematics of the board’s test set-up and EGSE to guarantee its suitability for formal testing.
• Support to the Technical Manager for technical issues resolution, in strong collaboration with experts as necessary under quality and programmatic rules.
• Document and report the Design Validation of the Flight Unit in different documents (Verification Control Document, Test Procedures and Reports) to support the design robustness against the different stakeholder during the different project milestones (Requirement Review, Preliminary and Architecture Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review, Test Review Board…).
• Participation in the coding of test sequences (based on Python or other languages) maximizing the test coverage to validate the integrity of the design.
• Execution of integration, qualification and acceptance test campaigns for the corresponding flight models (EQM, QM, PFM, FMs), including development of those jigs needed for (tooling, vibration and thermal fixtures, etc).
• During the recurrent phase of the project, the Candidate shall ensure close monitoring of any deviation, evolution and/or discrepancy from the agreed design.
• Customer oriented, being able to reach a trust relationship based on a proactive and continuous support to show confidence on the design.

Required skills:We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Educated to Master degree level (or equivalent) in engineering or science discipline.
• At least five years of experience in the Validation and Verification of Electronic Units.
• English and Spanish must be negotiation-level, both written and spoken.
• Technical excellence and technical challenge spirit.
• Digital mindset (automation of tasks, scripting, use of digital design tools and simulators).
• Excellent communication and reporting skills (both internal and external).
• Customer oriented.
• Strong team working and cooperation spirit to motivate the project team.
• Capability to propose practical solutions; constructive and innovative mindset to propose efficient solutions and committing way forward.
• Independent and autonomous way of working.

Recommended skills are:

• Experience on Power, Analog electronics or Digital design.
• Knowledge of space environment constraints and European space regulations, ESCC, SMD, etc
• To be familiar with Agile Methodologies.
• Knowledge of advance technics for modelling HW in VHDL.
• Technical knowledge of advanced test instrumentation to foster the testing automation (involving the development of scripts and data management).
• Happy to learn and teach others.
