Job Description

Manning Park Resort is seeking a Bookkeeper with a strong business and financial acumen to live and work on site at MPR. This person will report directly to MPRs Controller/Senior Accountant, and will take full responsibility for the company’s accounting activities including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with our GM, Department Managers and Accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages, with a working knowledge of Quickbooks Online.Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.Responsibilities include:

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Complete tax forms
  • Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
  • Perform additional administrative responsibilities, as requested
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software such as QuickBooks (required) and Ceridian Dayforce (asset)
  • Proficient knowledge and hands on experience with QuickBooks (required) and Receipt Bank (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite)
  • 2+ years in a progressive bookkeeping role
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills; ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to work a variety of days/times as, on the rare occasion, there may be some evenings or weekends required to meet the needs of the business
