Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join our Planning and Development Services Team. Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Development Services, this position will review and evaluate development applications, process Land Titles forms, meet with development applicants, business licenses, and conduct research to support project proposals and policy recommendations.As the Planner, you will exercise initiative and professional judgement as you consult with internal and external stakeholders on complex issues and participate on committees involving diverse interests and assist in developing action plans. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to interpret and explain relevant Acts and Regulations, respond to project inquiries, and work with the City’s GIS service provider to maintain mapping systems.This role is ideal for someone who is keen to make a difference and positively impact Merritt’s social, environmental, and economic health.This position requires a 37.5-hour work week.
