Job Description

The Shaw Group has won many national and provincial awards including safety awards and a national export award with a special citation for job creation.We are currently looking for a Site Supervisor to join our Eastern Embers Operations Team. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for day-to-day safety, staffing, and production at the plant. It is the Site Supervisor’s obligation to enforce standard operating procedures as well as Shaw Resources Policies and Procedures as they may pertain to safety and working efficiencies. You will have a strategic mindset and the ability to lead your team to operational excellence with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety.As an integral part of our Operations Team, you will:

  • Create and maintain a safe workplace for all employees
  • Manage, coordinate, and allocate a team of 12-14 plant personnel on a daily and weekly basis, according to the shifting needs of the business to meet demanding production targets.
  • Manage the Plant Operators to run the plant safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Assist in the management of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Contribute as an active member of the Plant Lean program. Institute operational best practices and reduce process variance and costs by driving continuous improvement through Lean activities.
Qualifications
  • 3 or more years supervisory experience in a plant environment
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Track record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Track record of successfully collaborating in a team environment
  • Experience collaborating with various areas within an organization
  • Lean experience an asset
