Starting Date:As soon as possibleSalary:To be discussedJob Status:PermanentLocation:18005, Lapointe Building 305, Mirabel, Quebec, CanadaDescriptionAs an integral part of the procurement team, the Logistics and Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the effective management of transportation, customs compliance and other international trade related obligations. He will also manage relationships with transportation service providers and customs brokers, monitor their performance and optimize delays and cost.Tasks and responsibilitiesThe Logistics and Customs Compliance Specialist has a key role in the procurement team and will act as a resource person for various import / export and customs compliance requests. More specifically, he will have to:Plan and coordinate international transport (by truck, boat and plane) and respond to different carriers information requests;Optimize delivery times and costs with different carriers and negotiate agreements as needed;Act as a resource person regarding customs procedures;Manage the product database (product classification, country of origin, regulatory declarations);Classify new products, ensure compliance with the laws and regulations in force, prepare and sign the required customs documents;Manage requests for information related to the import / export activities of the company, and contact the manufacturer if necessary;Verify invoices from customs brokers and transportation service providers for payment;Prepare and validate customs claims (“drawbacks”);Identify opportunities for savings and / or improvements;Any other related task.Requested SkillsEducationCollege diploma in Transportation Logistics or equivalent experience;Customs certified specialist certificationAny additional training in operations management, international trade or customs compliance will be considered an asset.Experience3 to 5 years experience in international logistics and customs compliance.Technical SkillsExpert with the legal aspect surrounding the import, export and customs;Good knowledge of European and American standards;Good knowledge of cargo transportation (air, sea, land);Good knowledge of product classification;Proficiency with computer tools (in-house software and Google cloud) and ability to navigate and use multiple applications or screens;Knowledge of the Google Mail / Docs environment an asset.LanguagePerfectly bilingual spoken and written, french and english.AttitudeProductive;Responsible;Optimist,Seeks excellence;Open minded;Team player;Customer service oriented (internal /external);Analytical mind;Detail oriented;Versatility and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time;Dynamic;Enthusiastic;Resourceful;Autonomous.CompensationsPossibility of working remotely and/or from the head office located in Mirabel;Flexible hours;3 weeks of vacation per year (4 weeks after 3 years of service or from the start if 9 years of relevant experience);9 paid statutory holidays;2 paid days for sick leave, family or personal obligations;Group insurance coverage available (partly covered by RobotShop);Employee assistance program;Pension plan with % of contribution from RobotShop;Years of service recognition (annual gift);Profit sharing programFree social activities organized by the company (Annual summer BBQ, Christmas party, etc.);Gatherings (virtual or in person) on Fridays, to encourage social interaction;Library (books, magazines, and several robotic products are available for personal loan);Discount for personal product purchases;Reimbursement of approved training programs;2 terraces available to enjoy meals outside;Free parking including charging stations for electric cars.EMPLOYMENT EQUITYWe support the principles of employment equity and have established an equal access employment program for women, Aboriginal peoples, visible and ethnic minorities, and persons with disabilities.
