Job Description

L3 Technologies MAS, located in Mirabel (QC), is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.As Machinist at L3 MAS you will:Tooling:

  • Select and install the appropriate wheels;
  • Place the tools to sharpen the retainer;
  • Prepare and center the wheels;
  • Adjust the speed and movement of the machine and the flow of coolant to minimize the risks of distortion and obtain the desired finish;
  • Operate the cutting tools, grinders, resurfacing and manual tools for sharpening different types of strawberries and other tools while respecting tolerances.
Machining parts:
  • Using precision measuring instruments such as height gauges and sinus bars:
    • Determine the zero point of the coordinates and calculate the linear and angular dimensions so as to trace the lines of material, benchmarks, complex contours and compound angles;
  • Prepare the machine by choosing and installing the cutting tools by making appropriate arrangements or designing it and adapting everyday tools;
    • Install and secure the material in the retainer;
    • Set the speed and feed machinery;
    • Select the flow rate of coolant;
    • Set the cutting depth;
  • Operate conventional machines within established tolerances and dimensions;
  • Installs the disk or the appropriate program in the control of numerical control machines and operate according to established tolerances and dimensions;
  • Using gauges and precision measuring instruments, ensure that room dimensions, finish, spacing and angles of the tools are within.
