Job Description

Job Title: On-Call Shift AZ DriverLocation: Mississauga, OntarioWe are seeking dedicated and experienced AZ drivers to join our team on an on-call basis in Toronto. As an On-Call Shift AZ Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods while maintaining a high standard of professionalism. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Safe and Efficient Driving: Operate commercial vehicles, primarily tractor-trailers, while adhering to all relevant traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure the safe transportation of cargo to its destination.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition. Report any issues or concerns promptly.
  3. Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo as necessary, using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage to goods.
  4. Compliance: Comply with company policies, transportation laws, and regulations, including hours of service and logbook requirements.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, colleagues, and clients as needed. Report any delays, incidents, or issues promptly.
  6. On-Call Availability: Be available for on-call shifts as required, often with short notice, to meet fluctuating demand and customer needs.
  7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and fuel consumption as required by company and regulatory authorities.
  8. Safety Focus: Prioritize safety at all times, following best practices to prevent accidents and incidents. Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Valid AZ driver #39;s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional driving experience.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with transportation laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for handling cargo and working in various weather conditions.
