What Makes This Role Great:This is a high-impact leadership opportunity at the intersection of software engineering, data strategy, and energy innovation. As Director of Technology and Enterprise Data, you’ll shape the future of Rodan’s digital platforms—driving the architecture, scalability, and performance of systems that power real-time energy intelligence and operational excellence.You won’t be writing code day-to-day, but your engineering judgment will be critical. You’ll lead a talented team across software development and enterprise data, guiding solution design, DevOps maturity, and delivery velocity. You’ll work across modern Microsoft and Linux-based stacks, influence product direction, and ensure that engineering practices are robust, secure, and future-ready.This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. You’ll have the autonomy to shape engineering culture, the support of a strong executive team, and the satisfaction of building systems that directly contribute to sustainability and grid modernization.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee both software development and enterprise data services functions, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivery timelines.
  • Provide technical oversight across backend development, DevOps, and data operations—ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.
  • Provide oversight of electricity data acquisition hardware and ETL processes to ensure accurate, timely aggregation and submission of data to internal and external users.
  • Guide solution architecture and technology direction, staying current with modern engineering practices and tools.
  • Manage and mentor a team of developers and data professionals, including team leads and managers, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define product roadmaps, estimate delivery effort, and support investment planning.
  • Ensure Agile practices are followed and delivery pipelines are optimized for speed, quality, and reliability.
  • Serve as a key member of the management team and provide input on overall business direction, foster a positive work culture, and strong collaboration with other functional leaders.
  • Attract and develop top talent.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally with oversight of both software development and data services.
  • Strong understanding of backend development principles, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to assess code quality and system architecture without direct coding responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux-based technology stacks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Local to the Greater Toronto Area with the ability to work onsite in Mississauga 2–3 days per week.
