Job Description

STUDENT ON PLACEMENT – PROGRAMSPLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. The Position Requires:

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to your schedule provided
  • Complete course work according to your schedule
  • Always take direction from the staff
  • Become part of the staff team
  • Develop a good relationship with your supervisor
  • Use your supervisor and the setting as a resource
  • Familiar with PLASP’s policies and procedures
  • Become familiar with the Supervisory Policy
  • Show initiative without being asked
  • Be open-minded and be willing to listen and learn
  • Ask questions
  • Be open to feedback
  • Inform staff of issues that need to be discussed with parents
  • Contribute to creating a safe work environment
  • Wear your ID Badge while in the program
Key Responsibilities When Working with Children:
  • Enjoy interacting with the children
  • Assist the staff with the children and the program
  • Interact directly with all of the children, by talking, listening, and playing with all of the children
  • Participate in all aspects of the program
  • Plan activities that engage the children’s interests
  • Lead indoor and outdoor activities that are geared to the children’s interests
  • Eat with the children
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up, e.g., lunchtime, craft activities, etc.
  • Ensure photo and contract are provided to the Program Director
  • Become familiar with policies and procedures
