Would you like to ply your trade in an innovative production facility If so, we currently have an exciting, upcoming opportunity for a Millwright with our growing team based out of our manufacturing facility located in Mississauga, ON.Do not miss the opportunity to join an engaging team of people-centric professionals, leaders, problem solvers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fighters!Job Summary We are seeking a Millwright to focus on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing stationary industrial machinery, mechanical systems and mechanical equipment. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and will work a 12-hour continental day shift schedule (8am – 8pm, 7 shifts bi-weekly)Address: 2441 Royal Windsor Dr, Mississauga, ON L5J 4C7Starting Salary: $47 - 50/hourPrinciple Accountabilities

  • Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches or verbal instruction and accomplish these assignments with maximum efficiency.
  • Operate mobile material handling equipment to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair or machinery.
  • Inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing plant machinery, equipment, systems, building and physical structures.
  • Competently and safely use all tools and operate all machine tools such as lathes and grinders for the efficient overhaul, maintenance or set-up of company property.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Providing training, instruction and direction to apprentices or helpers assigned to them during the course of their duties.
  • Familiar with all national, provincial and local codes that apply to the job that they are performing.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Work with other classifications of employees in emergency situations, plant shut down periods, and in times when machinery is not operating to perform all necessary activities to get equipment and machinery back into operation in minimum time.
  • Perform a variety of tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must have current certification of an Ontario Provincial (433A) or an Inter-provincial (Red Seal) Trade Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright). Preference given to dual ticket holders
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatics, and welding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
  • PLC skills, troubleshootingamp; programming are an asset
  • Must be flexible for work shift hours, including on-call
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices

Working ConditionsIncumbent spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (50-100 lbs.), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required.
