Job Description

This role will be based out of our Fabrication plant facility located in Mississauga, ON.Do not miss the opportunity to join an engaging team of people-centric professionals, leaders, problem solvers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fighters!Job Summary:The Machine Operator will report to the Production Supervisor and focus mainly on cutting and bending pipe based on product specifications while working a 12-hour continental shift schedule (non-rotating). We provide on the job training, so experience is not vital.Address: 6810 Invader Crescent, Mississauga, ON, L5T 2B6Salary: $23.31/hourDuties and Responsibilities:The following are key principle accountabilities, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and layout work assignments and accomplish with maximum efficiency.
  • Operate cutting saws, setup and operate automatic and manual pipe bending machines in the department
  • Responsible for proper regrind control including proper sorting of regrind materials.
  • Operate strapping equipment and air nailers.
  • Pack products as per packaging specifications.
  • Perform operator quality inspection checks.
  • Housekeeping around the area and machines, and maintain 5’s.
  • Performs necessary administrative functions related to the position.
  • Will be required to function in other capacities as directed by the direct supervisor.
  • Follow all plant health, safety, environmental and quality policies by working safely and responsibly
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices is necessary.
  • Basic math skills including geometry and fractions.
  • Able to solve sophisticated problems using sound problem solving techniques and good judgment based on previous practices and precedence
  • Ability to multitask, pay close attention to detail, and adhere to instructions diligently
  • Flexible to work 12-hour continental shift schedule (7 days bi-weekly)

Working ConditionsIncumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects, standing and walking cover majority of work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow brings moderate stresses to this position.
