Job DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places Architectural business is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is based out of our Kitchener, ON office on a hybrid work schedule. AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.Job Summary: We are looking for someone ready to take on the challenge of building our structural engineering team! This is your opportunity to show off your leadership abilities and leave a lasting impact. We are looking for someone who is willing to come to the Kitchener office perhaps 2 - 3 times a week. Major Responsibilities: • Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. • Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments. • Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. • Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.• Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization. • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience. • Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. • Manages group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
