Job Description

Working with us means working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations.Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow.Your role:You will be responsible for Import/Export (Trade) Compliance within Canada with some support for the Americas Region for Atlas Copco. You will communicate with other departments to facilitate the movement of product to and from the US, Canada, Europe, and other countries. You will work with customs brokers, forwarders, and government agencies and will require previous knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, origin determination and marking along with knowledge of other government agencies. You will also collaborate with other Atlas Copco team members to ensure all government regulations are followed. This position is remote and you will report to the Trade Compliance Manager.Responsibilities:

  • Determination and assignment of trade information such as Commodity Codes and Country-of-Origin, based on the latest rules and regulations
  • Work with CA Tariff codes (HTS), assigns and review them for accuracy
  • Complete import audits and activities which will include classification, valuation, origin claims and other OGA qualifications following government regulations and company policy using AIRS import system and broker #39;s data
  • Responsible for record keeping following CA Customs and Atlas Copco #39;s company policies
  • Work with import brokers on correct processes, update SOP #39;s and attend meetings with all parties involved
  • Work with other internal compliance groups to keep product moving into and across the Canada
  • Help prepare international documents for the daily international shipments and consolidations as needed by business conditions
  • Work with purchasing, engineering, and other departments to document and invoice import assists on purchase orders and other transfers
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Trade Compliance Manager or ITBA internal compliance group
  • Assist purchasing and sales on correct selection and assignment of Inco Terms
  • Help with set-up of CARM at all Atlas Canadian Departments. Periodic audits of payments and charges from/for CARM
To succeed, you will need:
  • BS degree in business or related field or combination of school and work experience
  • Broker #39;s license is an asset
  • 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, global logistics, or trade related field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products. Word, Access, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of global ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle
  • Knowledge of USMCA, CETA, and other free trade agreements
  • Must be a CA Citizen, or meet the qualifications CBSA requires to use its systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain compliance manuals, update department procedures
  • Experience with Customs Brokers, Forwarders, Government Agencies
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance field
  • Prior experience managing broker and forwarder relationships
  • Prior experience running a USMCA (NAFTA), CETA (Canada/EU Trade Agreement) or other FTA program
