Employment Opportunity Natural Forces Operations Manager _________________________________________________________________________________________Natural Forces is a leading Canadian clean energy developer that delivers projects in partnership with Indigenous Communities and Nations, CEDCs, Municipalities and other local communities across Canada, and Ireland. Our passion is to build relationships that allow us to harness renewable energy resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way.You will be joining a team that places a high value on employee growth, sustainability, and a healthy work environment.Who are we looking forNatural Forces is seeking a candidate for a junior position to fill the role of Operations Manager to support our Operations team members that operate and manage our renewable energy projects. This is a full-time position based in the province of New Brunswick. The primary objective is to maintain and enhance the organization’s operations by ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective operations and maintenance for multiple projects.Key Tasks and DutiesSite Familiarization and Set-up

  • Conduct site visits to become familiar with the projects. This shall include ground-level visual inspections of all civil, electrical, mechanical, controls, and telecommunications assets
  • Meet subcontractors, customers, and partners to establish a working relationship. This would include providing regular safety orientations to workers
  • Utilize asset management hierarchy for each project in our Computerized Maintenance Management Software
(CMMS) to track purchasing, maintenance, spare parts, and other important informationMonitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor projects for alarms, warnings, and information messages using the SCADA system or monitoring software
  • Establish and continuously improve standard procedures for alarms and warnings that may include steps for our network operations centre or subcontractors to follow
  • Log all maintenance activities in the CMMS and check for compliance with personnel hours, materials usage, and analysis of any trends
  • Ensure production and availability data are captured for various projects to ensure accurate reporting and analysis
Site Management
  • Manage the HSE program for the projects and ensure all workers are trained and following the program. This includes providing orientations, creating safe work plans, supervision where required, and performing regular inspections. The HSE Coordinator will work closely with the Operations Manager and provide support for this responsibility
  • Be available to travel to the site on a 24-hour next working day basis for urgent matters
  • Conduct quarterly site inspections to ensure all civil, electrical, mechanical, controls, Balance of Plant (BOP), and telecoms assets are in proper order
  • Coordinate and manage all site activities executed by sub-contractors and service providers including electricians, utilities, engineers, snow clearance, vegetation management, and civil workers
Administrative Management
  • Act as the customer or owner representative for maintenance sub-contracts
  • Manage any claims submitted to or from insurance providers or any third party relating to the wind farm
  • Interact and support our partners including project owners, landowners, or other stakeholders to uphold Natural
Forces core values of safety, trust, flexibility, and continuous improvement
  • Manage purchasing and invoicing in conjunction with the finance team
Skills and Qualification Requirements
  • Technical diploma, Engineering Technology diploma or post-secondary degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
  • 1-3 years’ experience with operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Experience with managing and executing operations and maintenance plans is required
  • Valid driver’s license (for use of Natural Forces vehicles to visit our facilities)
  • Ability to independently manage our projects with support and guidance as part of our Operations team
  • Detail orientated and meticulous work ethic to ensure a high quality of work
  • Process-based approach to creating, editing and storing the associated documentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Use Continuous Improvement methods to optimize our operational projects
  • Willing to travel as required, sometimes to remote project locations
  • Passion for renewable energy and/or lowering the carbon footprint
