Accounting ClerkThis position is offered for a client in the legal sector, who values a professional, collaborative, and dynamic environment. Based in Montréal, this role supports accounting operations and involves a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, billing, trust accounts, and compliance with internal and regulatory procedures.The Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and meticulous. They demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, possess solid organizational skills, and are proficient with accounting tools, especially Excel. They are bilingual in French and English, enabling them to efficiently manage billing, communications, and accounting operations in both languages. They are also customer service-oriented and thrive in a team-based work environment.What is in it for you:• Annual salary between $60.000 and $65.000.• Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week.• Schedule from Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm.• Comprehensive benefits package, including extended health coverage, dental care, long-term disability (LTD), and critical illness insurance.• 3 to 4 weeks of paid vacation.• Wellness account and financial support for continuing education or training.• Casual dress code.• Early office closure before statutory holidays.• On-site position at a downtown Montréal officeResponsibilities:• Handle accounts payable: invoice entry, check issuance, and invoice reconciliation according to internal and client guidelines.• Carry out accounts receivable tasks, including credit card billing and recording of received payments• Perform post-disbursement operations.• Manage trust accounts: deposit and disbursement of funds in accordance with Bar regulations.• Prepare, review, and finalize draft invoices.• Apply established accounting policies and procedures.• Perform any other related tasks as needed.What you will need to succeed:• College diploma in accounting.• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting.• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.• Experience in a legal environment (major asset).• Good understanding of billing processes specific to law firms.• Proficiency in legal billing software such as Elite or 3E (strongly preferred).• Excellent command of accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.• Bilingual in French and English, in order to efficiently handle billing, client correspondence, and trust account procedures in both languages.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Strong attention to detail and professional rigor.• Ability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.• Team player with a strong client service orientation.• Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.Why Recruit ActionRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2504511) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach to job seekers and businesses.
