Apply today and take the first step towards an exciting new career with CellCarta!Summary Reporting to the Manager, the Research Assistant I will work as part of a team dedicated to characterizing cellular immune responses through flow cytometry on whole blood and bone marrow aspirates.ResponsibilitiesMore specifically, you will participate in the following:

  • Perform methods according to approved procedures;
  • Manage reagent orders and maintain inventory required for assay performance;
  • Participate in the shared technical management of the laboratory;
  • Adhere to current laboratory standards, follow quality system procedures, and contribute to the implementation and improvement of quality documentation.
Education
  • DEC or Bachelor #39;s degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
Main Requirements
  • 1 year of laboratory experience;
  • 1+ years of hands-on flow cytometry experience, including multi-parameter panel analysis and data interpretation, is an asset;
  • Experience in cell culture (sterility) and handling infectious materials in a BL2+ environment;
  • Experience with clinical sample handling and chain of custody procedures is an asset;
  • Experience troubleshooting flow cytometry equipment is an asset;
  • Experience with flow cytometry software (FACSDiva, FACSuite, SpectroFlo) is an asset;
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) is an asset;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting assignments;
  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of immunology-related techniques;
  • Ability to work within a regulatory framework (GLP) and follow sound document management practices (SOP);
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Adaptability to new technologies and methods;
  • Motivated to actively participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
Working Conditions
  • 100% onsite;
  • Rotating schedule between two shifts:a. Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM;b. Wednesday to Friday, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Saturdayamp; Sunday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. **Note that a shift premium will be applied**
