Sturgeon Public School Division is currently recruiting a Permanent Full-Time Client Services Technician. The successful candidate will work out of our Central Office which is located in Morinville just minutes north of the City of St. Albert.FTE: 1.0 FTE; Monday to Friday; 40 hrs/week; full-time permanentSalary: $5,131 to $5,788 monthly as per the General Employment Conditions. Includes a comprehensive benefits package and a defined pension.Function and Purpose:The Client Services Technician coordinates a team approach to the monitoring, maintaining and assessing of the Division’s technology systems and devices to ensure optimal operations in administrative and instructional settings. Working in consultation and cooperation with end users across the system, the Client Service Technician applies effective communication skills and technical knowledge to address emerging issues efficiently while maintaining proactive maintenance processes. This role reports to the Director of Technology and Logistics.Primary Responsibilities:Primary point of contact for Level 2 and 3 issuesMonitor, maintain and report on the Division's ticketing systemManage emerging issues and optimize user experienceLiaise with school IT leads to address emergent issuesAssist and train schools regarding device management, digital security and effective use of digital tools and devicesIdentify and engage in potential learning opportunities in the regionCollaborate with the System Analysts to coordinate support for cloud services and softwareCoordinate the installation and maintenance of school hardware and core network infrastructureMaintain and update documentationWork closely with two direct reports to ensure alignment and growth of knowledge, skills and competenciesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge, training and proficiency in technology and computer systemsHigh proficiency in education based software (Powerschool, G Suite, Microsoft, etc.)Willingness to continue professional development as it pertains to job assignmentEducation and Experience:Mandatory:Basic technical training (CompTIA, MCSE, CCNA or Equivalent)A foundational knowledge of network interconnectivityStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExceptional analytical and problem solving skillsExperience with Microsoft Windows OS and Google AdministrationDesirable:Previous experience in a medium to large IT environmentDiploma from a technical program at a post-secondary institution or equivalent training and/or experienceWorking technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems and standards including Windows and Google AdministrationExperience supervising a team and engaging in strategic planningRuckus/HP Aruba Wireless experienceAll new employees to Sturgeon Public School Division are required to submit a recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector included (from their local RCMP station) prior to commencement of employment.Applications for this position will be accepted online ONLY at www.sturgeon.ab.caAll completed applications received by the deadline will be considered.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
