Economic Development & Ecosystem Services Summer StudentSturgeon County is looking for an Economic Development Summer Student to support members of the Economic Development & Ecosystem Services department with administrative duties, hosting events, documentation, and the coordination of various business retention and investment attraction related activities.This position is partly funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. If you have an interest in Economic Development and are eager and quick to learn within a close-knit work environment, we encourage you to apply!Job DutiesProvide regular data entry to track and coordinate department activities, often utilizing a customer relationship management (CRM) system.Perform data manipulation and analysis with information from Stats Can, BRE surveys and various sources.Work with members of the Economic Development & Ecosystem Services team to develop processes that support information gathering.Professionally engage with the local and regional business community and partner audiences.Meet with the Economic Development & Ecosystem Services team on a regular basis to provide project updates and offer input.Support the CRM program through data entry, business engagement, and records management.Assistant with department activities related to online, hybrid or in-person (Covid-compliant) events.Support investment attraction and business retention and expansion activities and other initiatives as they arise.Adhere to applicable responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the Sturgeon County Health and Safety Management System.Job Qualifications and SkillsAbility to provide and maintain a home-based office as a condition of employment, with the ability to work from the Sturgeon County Centre office or travel outside of the community, when required.Priority will be given to those who are currently enrolled in a Business, Management, Marketing or related program at a recognized post-secondary educational institution.Ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service in a consistent and professional manner.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to come up with creative ideas and solutions to support Economic Development priorities.Experience working both independently and in group settings.Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Valid Alberta Class Five driver’s license is required.Job Type: Full-timeQuick Apply
