Job Description

Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting for two (2) Full Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment with our École Morinville Public School, located in Morinville, AB, just minutes north of St. Albert. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.ÉMPS offers programing for children in Pre-K through Grade 4. Early Education and Primary grades are engaged in the innovative Reggio Emilia approach to learning. This visionary approach to learning and teaching uses the natural development and curiosity of the students at its core. The teachers design lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences, keeping students excited about their classes and enthusiastic about coming to school.Hours: 1.0 FTE; Full Time Temporary; 6.5 hrs/dayInitial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistants will work in either a Grade 1 or Grade 2 classroom.Qualifications & Experience: Teachers Aid Certificate/Diploma or Early Childhood Certificate/Diploma; CPR and First Aid are desirable. Preference given to applicants with experience and training with Autism, Behaviours and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered. Fluency in French is an asset.Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.ABOUT STURGEON PUBLIC SCHOOLSSturgeon Public Schools prides itself on doing things a little differently.
