Internship Information We are excited about the possibility of you interning with us for 2021-22, from September 23 through the end of the hockey season, including playoffs. The Mackenzie Mountaineers Junior A Hockey Club internship positions report to Andrew Fedurko, General Manager & Head Coach.These are commission-based internships (bonuses for recruiting players), but you will be provided with part-time or full-time work for as long as you are required to stay in Mackenzie, BC. Some of these jobs pay upwards of $100k/year and are also available in the offseason. I would suggest working with the local lumber mill, that pays well and is the largest employer in town. You will also be offered a commission for any players scouted and recruited, at $500 - $1000 per player signed. The team will help you secure rental accommodations as well.---Equipment Manager Internship: The equipment manager will coordinate the entire equipment area. Some of the responsibilities include inventory, disbursement, cleaning, laundering and maintenance. Extensive interaction with coaches, staff, players, and other rink employees is required of this position.---------Trainer Internship: Teaching, promoting and supervising the use of proper conditioning, stretching and warm-up techniques prior to all on-ice and off-ice physical activities. Teaching, promoting and supervising the use of proper nutritional regimens for and by all players during the entire season.---General Info: As an intern with the Mackenzie Mountaineers, you will be required to follow all company policies, especially those that prohibit any employee from bringing with them from any prior employer any proprietary information, trade secrets, proprietary materials, or processes of such former employers.You should be aware that your employment with the Mackenzie Mountaineers is part of an internship program and is expected to last no longer than the dates indicated above. Nothing herein, however, modifies your status as an express “at-will” employee. Under “at-will” employment, you are free to resign at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice. Similarly, the team is free to conclude its employment with you at any time.
