We are expanding our Human Resources team and are excited to be recruiting for a Human Resources Advisor to join us! This position is in Morinville, Alberta - just a short commute north of Edmonton.This new role will work alongside the current Human Resources Advisor and is primarily responsible for the stewardship and execution of the entire employment cycle and department administrative duties, while maintaining positive working relationships with employees and management. The Human Resources Advisor receives authority from and is accountable to the Director of Human Resources and contributes to all day-to-day department operations to ensure an effective and responsive service delivery.The successful candidate is required to have a Diploma in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources and a minimum of three years’ experience as an HR generalist. The ideal candidate will have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite and be quick to learn new programs. This role requires someone who maintains a high degree of confidentiality, is diplomatic and tactful, has excellent interpersonal skills, works well in a team setting, and initiates and adapts well to change.The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for completing duties on a priority basis, including employee management, analyzing and reporting, document management, scanning and filing. Duties of this role include but are not limited to:· Manage the employee onboarding and offboarding program· Maintain employee benefit administration, including enrollments, changes and terminations· Maintain employee files in all systems ensuring all changes are accurately entered and filed· Support benefits and leave administration programs, including sick leave, workers’ compensation and personal leaves· Administer the recruitment process including preparing and posting opportunities, arranging interviews and maintaining interview guides and reference check forms· Collaborate with Payroll to ensure all required documentation for changes to employment or benefits is shared· Maintain employee certifications, evaluations, seniority and long service database· Research and prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents· Understand, interpret and apply the collective agreements, the General Employment Conditions, Alberta Labour and Employment StandardsThe Sturgeon Public School Division offers an annual salary range of $48,800 - $59,450, based on 35 hours per week. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes a defined pension through Local Authorities Pension Plan.
