The work we do shapes the future of our cities and will pave a new path for the future of our industry.We are proud to be Canadian made.This position is on-site.This position will support the Road Construction Crews, performing a variety functions to support the day-to-day operations and projects.Responsibilities:

  • Checking elevations and grades using GPS, levels & lasers for earth and rock excavation, ditching, granular placement and culvert installations.
  • Finegrading granular surfaces for paving and concrete curb and sidewalk
  • Adjusting and rebuilding manhole and catchbasin frame and grates · Setting up traffic control for daily operations
  • Coordinating trucks and providing instructions to equipment operators
  • Inspect the quality of construction and construction materials (aggregates and asphalt).
  • Monitor material placement and workmanship.
  • Maintain daily check list diary and site activities.
  • Report any non-conformance concerns while on site to management.
  • Execute tests in the field on construction materials to assess their quality.
  • Prepare and collect Aggregates samples for laboratory testing.
  • Perform compaction testing by Nuclear Densometer.
Qualifications:
  • Valid class G drivers licence
  • Good physical condition.
  • Experienced in checking elevations and grades
  • Proficient with MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized.
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and accountability
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Physically fit; Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable in working in an outdoor environment
