Position Overview:As the Superintendent, Health & Safety you are an experienced safety professional that will provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Heath & Safety team while actively promoting a safe, responsible work culture throughout the site. You have exceptional communication skills that are utilized daily as you provide supervision, direction and oversight on safety, security, medical clinic, contractor management, injury management and mine rescue teams.You will work proactively with operations/project teams and contractors to establish and maintain an integrated Health, Safety and Security management system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organization based on our Work Safe – Home Safe program. In your role, you will support the health and safety Manager with specific responsibilities to develop and implement site specific Health, Safety and Security strategies, policies, standards, procedures and objectives for the site. You will provide guidance and coaching to site Health, Safety and Security staff, site managers, superintendents, supervisors, workers and contractors with the objective to maintain a strong and positive site safety culture.Responsibilities and Duties:Reporting to the Manager, Health & Safety the successful candidate is a proven team player who takes initiative and pride in their willingness to win as a team and drive results.
