This is an online class to start at OTSS and may become an in-person class in the future. Online classes will be taught from OTSS.DUTIES:Under the direction of the Continuing Education Officer, provides instruction to Adult learners.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:TESL Ontario Certification. Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, Adult Education including English as a Second Language (ESL), education environment and the Canadian Language Benchmarks, and Board procedures and operations; organization and time management skills required to prioritize work and juggle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities with short timelines; interpersonal, and communication skills required to exchange and clarify information; oral communication and listening skills required for understanding and communicating effectively with diverse communities; understand and respond to inquiries using tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with colleagues and students; presentation skills delivering instruction; ability to develop a classroom atmosphere of respect, trust and cooperation; maintenance of all relevant certifications.This knowledge would normally be obtained through completion of TESL Ontario Certification from a recognized college or university; or Ontario Teaching Certification and Ministry of Education recognized ESL qualifications (CTESL; ESL Part(s) I and II); or Ontario Teaching Certification and ESL instructional experience.PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES:If you require accommodations in the interview process, please identify the nature of the accommodation required at the time an interview is offered.Order of Consideration :Applications will be considered in accordance with the PECCS Collective Agreement.1.
