School Library Technician50%, Regular, 10 month work yearMonday, Wednesday 8am-4pm, Friday morningssalary range: $ 17,063 to $21,799 (for 10 months)Effective Sept 1: $17,234 to $22,017 (for 10 months)Under the direction of the Principal or designate, the Library Technician will provide technical and public services and perform other duties related to library operations such as organize, maintain, select, order, circulate print and non-print materials, provide reference services, research and prepare support materials for units of study, and perform public relations, supervisory and clerical activities.Candidate Profile:Diploma in Library and Information Technician, and 1 to 2 years of library experience.Understanding of Cataloguing and classification systems.Research skills required;Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, databases), ability to perform internet searches and use research tools.Experience operating and maintaining library software.Organizational skills required to schedule classes/small groups and prioritize concurrent tasks and deadlines.Interpersonal and communication skills required, including writing communication skills.The ability to use tact, judgment and diplomacy when dealing with staff, students, parents/volunteers.The ability to work in both English and French is an asset.APPLICATIONPROCESS:Applications will be considered in accordance with the ESP Collective Agreement, in the following order:1.
