Job Description

Your West Coast Adventure Awaits!Come join our fun and adventurous team! You will be working in a natural playground of rugged coastal mountains, rainforests and ocean. Spend your summer getting paid to be where others vacation!Get to know us:Newton Cove Resort is a remote floating resort on the west coast of Vancouver Island, dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism. We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures.Who you are:

  • You have a desire to live and work in a beautiful remote area
  • You enjoy working outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • You have your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)
  • You have Basic First Aid certification.
  • Youre familiar with the recreational fishing industry (familiarity with DFO fishing regulations in Area 25/125 is an asset)
  • You can work independently and with little supervision
  • You have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and can work while walking or standing for prolonged periods
  • Youre friendly and outgoing with excellent communication and customer service skills
What you’ll be doing:
  • Youll be catching and securing guest boats when they arrive
  • Youll be cleaning the fish cleaning stations and maintaining the docks in general
  • Youll be assisting guests with rental boats
  • Youll be collecting garbage and recycling
  • Youll be processing retail sales using a POS system
  • Youll be completing daily cash-outs and managing the float
  • Youll be assisting guests with kayaks and SUPs, including providing orientations and safety information
  • Youll be acting as the "front desk" service for guests arriving by water
  • Youll be greeting guests, giving directions, assisting them, taking "catch" photos, and contributing to a stellar guest experience
Working with us:This position has an anticipated start date of July 2, 2023 and an end date of September 16, 2023.
