Company Name:Gemini Machine WorksTitle of Position:Machinist -Gemini Machine WorksBusiness Address: 1606 - 13th Street Nisku, Alberta T9E 0K4No# of Positions: 6Terms of Employment: 3 year full time year roundLanguage Requirement(s): EnglishWage: 37.00 $ per hourBenefits Package (if applicable):WSA plan - Health spending account, wellness spending account and extended medical and dental 70/30 paid as well as short term and long term disability employee option/paid starts after 90 days.Hours (each week): 32Location of work:1606 - 13th Street Nisku, Alberta T9E 0K4Education: No degree certificate or diplomaWork Experience: 5 years or moreJob Duties: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine partsMeasure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assemblyRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tablesRepair machine tools and partsSet up and adjust production machineries/toolsFit and assemble components and machine parts to close toleranceMaintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instrumentsDocument and report deviations from specifications and tolerancesMaintain inspection records and complete inspection reportsVerify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine toolsVerify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instrumentsEfficient undertaking of machining projects as assigned.Responsible for the finished quality of machined pieces.Responsible for completing machining and manufacturing projects as per theshop schedule.Manual machining as required Vertical and horizontal turning, horizontal boring mill experience Mastercam, Mazatrol, Conversationalamp; G-Code Programming experience.Fanucamp; Heidenhein controls experience considered an assetHands-on, milling, turning, and live tooling experience.Responsible for the verification of toolpathsamp; modelling fixtures prior toproduction.Determine proper tooling and testing of new tooling and techniques foroptimization.Maintain a proactive and positive approach when completing assigned taskseither individually or as part of the team.All other duties which may be assigned based on the company’s requirements.Job Requirements: Journeyman certification or equivalent is required Meeting customer expectations; working closely with Foreman.Meet the operational objectives while complying with the overall corporate goals.Maintain a safe working environment and promote health and safety awareness.Identify, investigate and correct unsafe practices.Support employee development, mentorship and growth.Maintain a positive ‘team’ environment on the shop floor through respectfuldealings with individuals from all departments.Meet set deadlines as per dictated by shop schedule and customer demands.Occasionally Lift / Carry weights to 50 lbs.Occasionally Push / Pull weights to 150 lbs.Overtime and some evening or weekend work as requiredOn call duties when requiredAbility to work independentlyFast-paced environmentTight deadlinesRepetitive tasksPhysically demandingStanding for extended periodsAttention to detailOvertime requiredOwn tools/equipment
