Job Description

Position Title: Health and Safety CoordinatorDepartment: Human ResourcesDivision: AGI NoblefordLocation: Nobleford, Alberta, CanadaAbout AGIAGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. We currently have over 100 employees in Nobleford, Alberta and over 50 employees in Olds, Alberta.The OpportunityThis position will assist with safety for three facilities (two in Nobleford, one in Olds). The Safety Coordinator will have a hands-on, solution-oriented approach and work to build positive relationships with all employees across the facilities.The TeamYou will report to the HR Business partner and work closely with the supervisors, Joint Health and Safety committee and floor employees across multiple facilities. You will work to continually improve our safety awareness and performance.Responsibilities

  • Complete and track all monthly inspections
  • Completing monthly KPI’s and reporting
  • Organize all safety training for multiple facilities
  • Coordinate emergency response drills
  • Update safety boards
  • Co-chair health and safety meetings
  • Align safety policies/practices across facilities
  • Update/create hazard assessments
  • Complete safety investigations including finding root causes
  • Follow up with safety action items
  • Complete safety orientations
  • Coordinate third party service (hygiene assessments, safety consultations)
Qualifications
  • 3 years of health and safety experience
  • Class 5 driver’s license with the ability to travel to and from Olds, AB
  • Take initiative to create a LEAN safety culture
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
  • Build positive relationships with all employees
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency
  • Proven record keeping and documentation skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to operate various computer safety platforms (Sitedocs, OHT)
  • Ability to engage employees in training initiatives
