In this challenging multi-tasking role, you will maintain utility records for all metered and flat rate utility accounts to perform scheduled monthly, quarterly and annual utility billing. To ensure complete and accurate reporting of all revenues collected by the District, you will review the daily cash and cheque deposits of all cashiers to balance and prepare the daily bank deposit. This includes the review and approval of all online payments to ensure appropriate recording and classification of revenues collected.Your customer service experience will assist you in providing information to the general public (either in person or over the phone) on multiple revenue sources including property taxes, utilities, bylaw notices, dog licenses, as well as all aspects of provincial tax assistance programs such as Home Owner Grants and Tax Deferments. Your knowledge of cash management will enable you to train new cashiers and assist internal staff. During peak periods and as required you will provide back-up cashiering coverage.Your accounting background will be valuable in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and year-end audit working papers. Your advanced excel skills and experience working with complex software applications will enable you to analyze large data sets, perform complex reconciliations, comply with various external reporting requirements and prepare variance analysis and other management reports.The successful applicant will have:
