We are looking for someone to help us support our day-to-day operations, assist with promotional and informational activities while providing an exceptional experience for our student and employee community. You will work with a team of talented passionate staff, an engaged community and a driven executive team. You will be part of the team responsible for creating an environment that fosters student success and well-being and improve the overall student life experience.Do you share our purpose and passionWhat you’ll do

  • Facilitates communication and arrangements between the University and students, faculty and staff. This includes communication and arrangements between the administrator’s office and both internal and external contacts with tact, sensitivity and judgement as required. Contacts may include government officials, other educational institutions, international contacts, and community and business organizations.
  • Assists in the promotion of programs. This includes answering enquiries on services and test registration; referring students and faculty to resources and other campus services; assisting with workshop referrals, advertising departmental services, offerings and outreach programs; preparing brochure and calendar information; uploading information to a web page, drafting and/or revising student handbooks and manuals; and coordinating mailings and assisting in the organization of events as required.
  • Identifies and gathers information regarding issues requiring administrative action with considerable judgement and initiative, including determining whether an issue needs to be escalated to the Manager, Student Affairs or another administrator or can be handled by the employee.
  • Prepares operating budgets and capital requests in consultation with and for the approval of the Manager, Student Affairs. Supports with tracking, monitoring and reconciling cost centres including depositing and recording revenue, processing disbursements and charge backs, printing and reviewing management reports, and contacting Financial Services as required. Resolves discrepancies or brings them to the attention of the Manager, Student Affairs. Has signing authority within University guidelines and provides P Card reconciliation support.
  • Maintains department databases and provide support in compiling annual reports to the Ministry as required. Assists with obtaining and reporting on government funding by compiling information for applications and reports, monitoring funding cost centres, and tracking balances for review by the Manager, Student Affairs.
What you’ll bring
  • Completion of two years (approximately 60 credits) of post-secondary education.
  • Two years of directly related administrative support experience including public and student contact in an educational setting.
