Instructors may be expected to teach courses such as Business Law, International Trade Law, North American Business Law, etc. Faculty are expected to participate fully in all department/hub meetings, committee and administrative work. The School of Business offers courses in each term (Fall, Spring and Summer), and each course requires competencies that are unique to the discipline.In keeping with Capilano University’s commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada Calls to Action and addressing historic barriers to higher education, we are looking for qualified candidates who can bring lived Indigenous experience to enhance learning in the classroom.Required Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications & Experience

  • An LL.B. or JD is required; and
  • A Master’s Degree or higher in any field; and
  • Either
    • Relevant training equivalent to 15 semester credit hours of academic, continuing education, vendor training, etc. in relation to the learning outcomes of the course or course grouping at the graduate level or equivalent;OR
    • Three years industry experience covering areas of supply chain logistics, international trade or international team management;OR
    • Three years previous post‐secondary teaching experience including curriculum development and assessment and experience with instructional delivery employing virtual platforms.
Assets
  • Ph.D. or earned Doctorate
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PDIP), Certification in University Teaching, Credential/Experience in online teaching or equivalent
  • Experience/Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles in an educational environment.
  • Indigenous lived experience
