Mtn Operations - Mountain CrewJob Title: Summer Mountain CrewLocation: North VancouverDepartment: Mountain OperationsReports to: Mountain Operations Duty ManagerRole Status: Full time/ Part time -Seasonal -Hourly. In exchange for employee excellence, we offer a professional atmosphere, fantastic growth opportunities, unlimited outdoor recreation (including skiing and snowboarding) an inspiring setting and many unique employee privileges.Scope of the job:As a Summer Mountain Crew, you are responsible for assisting all departments with daily operations and special events and are expected to deliver a safe and exceptional experience for all mountain guests. Under direct supervision from the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Manager, the Summer Mountain Crew assist other departments with manual tasks, clean up and tear-down, landscaping, transport, fences, trail building and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting other departments with manual tasks
  • Cleaning up or assisting trade workers with special tasks
  • Cleaning of mountain top areas
  • Using chainsaws and brush-cutters for various jobs
  • Landscaping mountain top and base areas and maintain in these areas
  • Mowing lawns
  • Assisting with transport of goods around the mountain top area
  • Assisting to set up and tear down materials for events
  • Maintaining trails
  • Building fences
  • Tearing down and setting up of all seasonal signage and attractions in preparation for the new season
  • Performing all other duties as required
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position reports directly to the Mountain Crew Supervisor and Mountain Operations Duty Manager, with no direct supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction
  • mechanical experience an asset
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others
Working Conditions
  • Summer Mountain Crew perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions.
  • Hours of operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include rotation of shifts, day/evening shifts, and weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling, and other forms of manual tasks.
