Job Title: Operations ManagerTerm of Employment: Permanent, Full-TimeCompany: Sager Education Inc.Salary: $44.00 per HourWork Hours Per Week: 30 HoursVacation: 10 days paid vacation per yearWork location: #321-2030 Marine Dr. North Vancouver, BC, V7P 1V7About us: Sager Education is a K12 STEM education organization with three campuses located in Vancouver, North Vancouver and Richmond, BC. We offer STEM programs for Grade 1 to 12 students in math, physics, chemistry and other science courses. We also host a large number of competitions in math, robotics, and computer science, as well as cutting-edge STEM camps to immerse students in science and technology, AI, coding and programming, as well as aerospace courses.At Sager, we provide the youth of British Columbia with the opportunity to investigate engineering, science, and technology in a fun, educational and safe environment. Thousands of students have participated in our leading STEM education programs with great satisfaction and have reported how profoundly impactful the courses were for their future studies and career choices.We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our company into its next phase of growth. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and executing smooth daily operations of the school, including 3 campuses. Specifically, the operations manager ensures core daily systems are effectively executed, student enrollment targets are met and maintained, facilities and technology systems are in good working order, daily student health and safety protocols are adhered to, and daily events logistics are executed as planned. The operations manager reports directly to the Headmaster.Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the general management of the school, including budget and finances, human resources, projects and events, ensuring the school has resources to achieve its goals.
  • Develop and implement school-wide systems, procedures and policies that ensure operational excellence within the school.
  • Work with the Headmaster to implement the school’s mission; coordinate work and on-going projects, and collaborate with other schools and non-profit organizations on special projects.
  • Lead and manage the school operations team, including office manager, office assistants, marketing specialists, bookkeeper, etc.
  • Manage and support a team of instructors; Manages subcontractor resources required to support school operations.
  • Work with the Headmaster to administer and supervise marketing and promotional activities, such as digital marketing, holiday events, fundraisers, open houses, etc.
  • Support the Headmaster in the development and management of the annual budget to ensure that school meets its financial goals; Monitor financial performance, including labour cost, overhead cost, and staff utilization.
  • Actively manage the school budget throughout the year by participating in monthly budget meetings to review budget variances; actively monitor school spending, and proactively seek opportunities to ensure spending is always aligned to the school’s academic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Headmaster on the new hire process, including orientations and trainings, ensuring paperwork are complete; Approve day-offs and vacation requests.
  • Maintain all employee files; Oversee payroll administration.
  • Evaluate and mentor staff, set annual goals, review performance, and encourage professional growth and personal development.
  • Create a culture of service and support developing team members to excel in their roles and ensuring the school maintains operational excellence.
  • Manage school’s inventory process; ensure availability of necessary hardware (textbooks, computers, educational robot, etc.) for instructors and students;
  • Prepare periodic evaluation reports and briefs on operation and administration and present to the Headmaster.
  • Oversee and ensure our regulatory policies are current and comply with government regulations.
  • Ensures that all safety and security protocols are in place and being followed, including all mandated drills, safety inspections, and health regulations.
