This is an exciting time to join the District, as we embark on a range of initiatives to transform digital service delivery, customer experience, and our approach to climate action.Position OverviewThe District of North Vancouver is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated SharePoint Administrator to join the District’s Digital Services and IT team to build, manage, and support SharePoint solutions.What we can offer youWe’re looking for a talented SharePoint Administrator to join our team for at least three years. In this position you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team applying the latest technology to transform government services. You’ll focus primarily on Microsoft SharePoint and secondarily on the broader M365 platform.Your work will be impactful and will help transform how the District does business:

  • Help design and build integrated SharePoint and Teams solutions that dig deep into our enterprise business systems.
  • Enhance our SharePoint-based intranet by helping design sites, configuring webparts, and deploying Power Apps to provide an engaging and efficient experience to District staff.
  • Secure our SharePoint and Teams platform by managing access and reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user-experiences.
  • Govern SharePoint and Teams platform by managing libraries and teams, and configuring and maintaining its information architecture.
  • Work with colleagues throughout the organization to understand challenges and build solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Help colleagues get up to speed with SharePoint by developing on-demand training content.
  • Support the continued health of SharePoint by troubleshooting and resolving problems and managing data through archiving, retrieval, and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Leverage the entire Microsoft stack to align customer requirements with the right solution.
  • Assist in configuring and customizing the Microsoft Power Platform to streamline business processes, such as automating purchasing approvals.
  • Help develop custom apps integrated with Teams that will be used by hundreds of colleagues.

  • 4+ years of related experience plus relevant training and education.
  • Experience as a SharePoint Administrator within an integrated information technologies environment.
  • Comprehensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint, Teams, the Power Platform, Active Directory, and O365.
  • Experience building and maintaining complex flows in Microsoft Power Automate.
  • A proven ability to architect and build technical solutions that align with business objectives.
  • A strong desire to apply technology and design to solve complex problems, improve user experiences, and create measurable improvements to government services.
  • Superb collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a blended team of onsite and remote team members, in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for learning and self-improvement.
It’s great if you have
  • Experience with records management within a SharePoint Online environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Compliance Center.
  • Experience with SPFx, Microsoft Graph, Dataverse, or the Common Data Model.
  • Hands on development experience with the Microsoft 365 platform and the Power Platform, Azure, and Active Directory.
  • Software development experience, including experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular and React.
  • Experience delivering well-designed software products on time while working in an agile environment.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, code reviews, and test automation.
  • Experience developing and deploying solutions within Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with back end technologies, such as C# .NET Core, and with databases such as SQL Server.
