Job Description

The Corporation of the City of North VancouverSite HostAuxiliaryThe City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Liveable City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.The City of North Vancouver is looking for individuals to work as Site Hosts at the Shipyards and Waterfront on an auxiliary basis.In this position you will act as an ambassador of the City of North Vancouver; greeting and providing information and providing assistance to ensure a positive experience for all visitors to the area. During the operation of the Splash Park, you will provide on-site assistance and ensure the safety of all guests. During the operation of the Skate Plaza, you will provide on-ice assistance and a safe and fun atmosphere for guests using the rink; ensuring all skaters follow the rules, the safety of the rink and accesses as well as opening and closing sections of the rink as required. You will also provide customer service for towel and/or skate rentals, and perform payment transactions and ensure proper handling of payment records. In addition, you will assist with communications, including creating and updating bulletins, flyers and notices to distribute information to visitors, both in print and on-line. You will also be a point of contact for emergency situations that arise in the space and will take action to arrange for emergency services as required.You will have strong customer service and communication skills as well as cash handling experience. You will have the ability to work independently and the ability to exercise judgment and to deal courteously with the public and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. The ability to ice-skate is required.
