Job Description

Our client is a leading insurance company who is specialized in mortgage insurance. They are currently looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to join their team. Position will be mainly responsible for supporting the Risk Operations functions with reporting and analytics related to portfolio risk assessments, identification of emerging risks, policy application characteristic profiles and decisioning efficiency gap analysis using PowerBI and Alteryx. Responsibilities

  • Support the Risk Operations functions with reporting and analytics related to portfolio risk assessments, identification of emerging risks, policy application characteristic profiles and decisioning efficiency gap analysis
  • Develop comprehensive monitoring and reporting on new and existing initiatives to determine overall effectiveness and provide updates to key stakeholders (Risk Management, Project Leads)
  • Responsible for advanced analytics using Alteryx and Power BI to communicate opportunities for risk mitigation and to identify pending risks
  • Perform analytics to measure and monitor credit risks and trends and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Senior Management
  • Review Mortgage Lending material exceptions and provide support / decline rationale to Senior Management
Requirements:
  • Degree in quantitative field – Finance, Statistics, Economics, Math, Physics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated mortgage lending and/or risk management experience with focus on analytics in a mortgage lending environment
  • Strong background and willingness to learn new analytical and visualization tools such as Alteryx and Power BI
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information into key messages Ability to make sound decisions and suggest appropriate recommendations to senior management
