What Will You Work OnThe Assistant Category Manager – Merchandise Rewards, supports the non-Travel Rewards team in creating and executing the product vision and strategy of the Merchandise catalogue. Success in this role requires the individual to be a skilled collaborator to achieve business results in partnership with third-party vendors and internal cross functional teams.How Will You Create Impact
  • Work closely with the Category Manager (CM) with the final selection and execution of a strategic assortment that is aligned with selection criteria/redemption targets, while maximizing profitability
  • Assist the CM in identifying opportunities for category, brand, or product assortment expansion and work with direct vendors and fulfillment partners to source
  • Responsible for accurate maintenance of product records for listing items, costing, and promotional plans
  • Work closely with Vendor Partners to map and price out product promotions and liaise with eCommerce team to execute
  • Work with the eCommerce team and Vendor Partners to complete new item set-up
  • Work in partnership with the Marketing team to ensure assortment strategy is represented in marketing materials; review, proof and approve marketing materials (creative and copy) for the Merch Rewards website and e-mail assets
Let’s Talk About You:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years in Buying/Merchandising and/or Merchandise Planning
  • Love for product and understand evolving consumer trends/behaviour
  • Known for strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent proficiency in retail financial acumen relating to sales/profitability/inventory
  • Proven strong analytical skills and ability to independently identify insights through data
  • Highly collaborative mindset that allows you to build trust and accountability with both internal and external teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience in the Retail industry is not required, but beneficial
