Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting a safe workplace for all employees. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational health standards, EPA regulations, and workers #39; compensation laws. You will be responsible for developing training programs, conducting safety audits, and implementing health and safety policies to mitigate risks.Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety training programs for employees.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, inspections, and compliance status.
  • Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Stay updated on EPA regulations and ensure organizational adherence.
  • Provide first aid and CPR training as needed to staff members.
  • Assist in the development of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Manage workers #39; compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in environmental health and safety roles or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health standards and workers #39; compensation law.
  • Familiarity with EPA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop effective training programs tailored to various audiences.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis.
  • Ability to fabricate solutions for safety challenges as they arise.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
