As a Field Service Engineer and a member of our Clinical Service Team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of field service support and customer relationship management for our Clinical Customers. You will provide complete services on Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems, including installation, repairs, preventative maintenance, and instrument qualifications. You must be customer oriented, an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific in customer laboratories, and be eager to drive growth.How will you make an impactAs part of the Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) team (ULS brand), you have the opportunity to join a community of engineers who have strong customer relationships and solid technical knowledge within our Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we enable you to work autonomously and provide field service support to many different customers while developing your professional skills at the same time.What will you do

• Receive customer service requests for installations, calibrations, preventive maintenance and basic repairs, and promptly contact the customer to schedule services
• Report daily activities in reporting tool for accurate record keeping, including closing service calls upon completion.
• Maintain courteous and knowledgeable communication with customers to ensure alignment on all aspects of the service event (status, cost, scheduling, etc.)
• Maintain inventory of replacement parts, return defective material in a timely manner
• Maintain company assets (car, tools, inventory, laptop, etc.) in good working condition.
• Successfully complete trainings and work with mentor to ensure timely certifications
• Take on opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm in a fast paced environment
• Must have a strong focus on safety and be adaptable to customer lab environments
• Arrange travel accommodations and submit expenses in a timely manner

How will you get hereEducation

• Minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical science or equivalent experience
• Basic bench chemistry experience preferred

Position may require Covid-19 vaccination and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.Experience

• Minimum of 2+ years hands-on experience working with Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry instruments required. (LC, LC-MSMS & GC, GC-MS, GC-MSMS)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Customer service excellence in a fix the customer first environment
• Ability to be a great team member while being remote based in the field
• Ability to work independently diagnosing and troubleshooting with schematics, diagrams, service manuals instrument application software and other technical documentation
• Ability to consistently follow business procedures and meet performance metrics
• Demonstrated organizational/time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and administrative responsibilities independently
• Mastery of multiple instruments within a product line with minimal supervision
• Successfully manage service call load in assigned geography and help regional call load as needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance, and carry 25-30 Lbs. continuously throughout the day
• Must adhere to customer clean room environments and wear appropriate PPE attire as required
• Ability to drive frequently within territory and travel overnight as required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
