Job Description

Safran Landing Systems Canada is seeking a Commodity Buyer for our Seals commodity to be based in Toronto. The role will be to manage the purchase of this scope for the Landing Gearamp; Integration Division, and to work with and for, 5 different plants all over the world (Bidos and Molsheim in FR, Gloucester in UK, Toronto in CA and Suzhou in CN) with a representative responsibility at Toronto.Reporting to the Commodity Manager, you will manage a purchasing volume of €9M (7 suppliers):

  • Define the strategy of the commodity and ensure its implementation in collaboration with the counterparts of other direction;
  • Manage a robust supplier panel by tracking financial risk and market opportunity, by ensuring timely supplier payment and supporting suppliers when relevant;
  • Organize sourcing activities (take into account carbon footprint reduction objectives, Reach transition), and develop the supply chain for new programs;
  • Ensure the expected and required contract coverage of the commodity with a clear visibility per supplier, per programs, per site;
  • Intervene in support of the SPQL in the event of failure of the suppliers of the panel
  • Participate in to the financial success of the LGI and SE Divisions by closely working with Programs and managing the cost reduction actions of the panel, by guaranteeing to share the right visibility of the opportunities and risks within the Performance tool, by anticipating the renegotiation and. In the support of new programs.
  • Update on time and with accuracy, the ERP and tools deployed and offered to manage Purchasing within Safran LS;
  • Be in a constant cross-functional position mindset and guarantee the knowledge capitalization.
  • Be in charge of managing some specific topics for the Toronto plant by coordinating or taking the lead on actions for that plant: unassigned requisition management, guarantee of P2P process, and support of the TOR MRO needs, for the hardware commodity especially. The others members of the team could request your support to get the right contact within the plant or to extract Toronto programs data from PDM in the full respect of confidentiality (ITAR). You will be a facilitator for the HSPP Team within the Toronto organization.
