Job Description

We are even a pet friendly environment with the occasional visitor.POSITION SUMMARY:The Construction Manager provides leadership for the construction activities of a project and is responsible for supervising the general foreperson(s) to ensure jobs are completed safely and on time. This is a permanent and full-time position (40Hours/week).Location of Work: 150 Regional Rd. 10, Whitefish, ON P0M 3E0.Travel to client sites across Canada is required as part of this role.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises the general foreperson(s) receiving daily updates on project;
  • Provides job feedback and project updates to project management;
  • Intimate knowledge in the Pre-Planning and Logistics Coordination of major Transmission Line Projects
  • Acts as a liaison with the management of the project contractor;
  • Works with the Field Health & Safety Advisor on safety issues and incident reports;
  • Supports a pro-active Safety Culture (Courage to Care) with a focus on Leading Indicators and Crew participation which also includes constant positive communication
  • Schedules equipment placement;
  • Coordinates any crew movement requests;
  • Compiles packages for general forepersons pertaining to fleet maintenance & inspections;
  • Conducts or actively participates in safety meetings;
  • Deals with any employee relations issues including any investigations and progressive discipline;
  • Coordinates any training requirements with Health & Safety;
  • Ensures proper inventory of materials as required;
  • Adheres to all company workplace policies, standards, procedures and safe work practices; and,
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of construction management experience, preferably in the electrical construction industry;
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Transmission Line Construction (115kV/230kV/500kV) and Utility Work Protection Code
  • Powerline Technician Red Seal Certification Preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience in linear project construction;
  • Must have EPC experience;
  • Must be willing to travel frequently, working out of remote locations for multiple weeks at a time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and English verbal and written communication skills;
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively in order to meet deadlines;
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills; and
  • Valid Driver’s License.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
  • $75.00/hr
