Job Description

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum one – two years of customer service/office administration related experience
  • Exceptional ability to monitor and navigate multiple on-line platforms, to be responsive and able to address / redirect questions while working remotely from the main office environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Internet and Social Media platforms
  • Excellent organizational, filing, keyboarding and data entry skills with attention to detail
  • Proven exceptional customer service skills, dealing with in-person, phone and electronic exchanges
  • Proven excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment and independently with a high degree of professionalism while, at times, working under pressure in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy skills and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Demonstrated safe work practices
  • Acceptable Police Records Check
Assets:
  • Experience as a live-chat agent on a web-based platform
  • Experience in a municipal setting
  • Experience with front line customer service
Duties
  • Primarily serve as the Live-Chat Agent for the County of Brant’s website, providing back-up phone, e-mail and occasionally in-person customer service, as required.
  • Act as a general ambassador for the County of Brant, aiding customers accessing a wide range of municipal services
  • Redirect inquires of a more complex nature to the appropriate department for technical expertise to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate all appropriate information to said departments
  • Maintain call logs for statistical purposes
  • Assist residents to complete online forms and payment
  • Monitor after-hour voicemails
  • Occasionally will be required to provide front desk customer service support, including various duties such as phone, in-person customer service and taking payments over a point of sale system.
  • Assist with program registrations as needed
  • Administrative support to various departments as needed (mailings, data entry, filing, sorting)
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of County services, service issues, department/division structures and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned
Salary: $26.81 to $31.37 per hour (Job Grade 2 – under review) 14 – 35 hours per weekHours of Work: Primarily will be scheduled Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the occasional need for coverage at other locations or during regular office hours.The County of Brant is committed to providing accommodations for persons with disabilities.
