Job Description

Position: Data Scientist (Contract)Location: Toronto - HybridDuration: 4 months (possibility of extension)About the CompanyOur client is a leading global media network that uses data-driven strategies to create end-to-end marketing solutions for major brands. They combine expertise in marketing technology, analytics, and digital media to deliver insights that drive measurable business results.About the RoleWe #39;re seeking a Data Scientist to join our client-facing analytics team on a contract basis. This role involves applying advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to help measure and optimize media performance. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, client stakeholders, and data partners to design, develop, and deliver actionable insights that influence marketing and business strategy.Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources including behavioral data partners, ad servers, DSPs, and measurement platforms.
  • Build statistical models and apply machine learning algorithms to measure marketing effectiveness and uncover insights.
  • Collaborate with media planning, strategy, and analytics teams to ensure analysis aligns with client objectives.
  • Perform data preparation, transformation, and exploratory analysis in Python/R and SQL.
  • Conduct analyses using data clean rooms such as Google Ads Data Hub (ADH) and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC).
  • Create clear data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support the development of tools and methodologies for transparency, visualization, and performance measurement.
  • Stay up to date with emerging data science techniques, measurement methodologies, and adtech innovations.
Skillsamp; Qualifications
  • 3-5 years #39; experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field (marketing analytics experience is a plus).
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master #39;s degree a plus).
  • Hands-on expertise with Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods including regression, classification, clustering, and experimental design.
  • Experience with marketing measurement methodologies such as media mix modeling (MMM), attribution modeling, or incrementality testing.
  • Familiarity with the adtech ecosystem, programmatic advertising platforms, and identity resolution tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and data clean rooms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.
