Visit www.jvstoronto.org.Program OverviewGenerating Opportunities for Learning Disabilities (Project GOLD), part of the JVS Disability Programs, is designed to help unemployed /under-employed individuals with learning disabilities and/or learning challenges (including ADHD), ASD, and Mental Health concerns to find and maintain competitive employment.We’re looking for someone who will:

• Conduct orientation, intake and assess clients with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD and/or Mental Health to develop individual employment action plans
• Apply knowledge of employment-related issues, adult learning approaches and accommodation analysis strategies to clients seeking employment
• Provide assessment, case management and one-to-one employment counselling to persons with learning disabilities and support as needed
• Develop strategies and program alternatives that fit with the client’s disability, have knowledge of transferable skills analysis
• Develop and facilitate workshops on such topics as personality dimensions, career decision-making, learning style, labour market
• Liaise with community, referring community supports and potential clients to market the program and to make recommendations for skill development and other appropriate interventions
• Prepare case management documentation, reports, perform data entry and maintain complete participant records and case notes

Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience, or a related degree with 3-5 years of counselling experience. International degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency.
• Extensive knowledge of learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and mental health challenges and their impact on employment
• Strong counselling skills
• Experience facilitating groups for a range learning styles
• Strong problem-solving and decision making skills
• Strong collaboration skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency (ie. SalesForce)
• A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required for this position

Our ideal candidate will also have:

• Strong knowledge of adult learning approaches
• Certification form an institution, such as VRA Canada or CVRP
