Job Description

Shift Collab is one of Canada’s largest therapy practices, operating virtually to support Canadians from coast-to-coast. We believe therapy should feel good and we are on a mission to #maketherapynormal by providing mental healthcare that’s relevant, actionable, and accessible. Founded in 2017, we’re a family-owned business that’s gone from a small clinic to nearly 100 brilliant teammates nationally — and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for a Content Writer that can support the writing, editing, and publishing of blogs, guides, and articles. This role will be a part-time contract position, with the opportunity for a longer-term partnership for the right candidate. What you will do:

  • Take our existing content to a new level. We have hundreds of blogs, articles, guides, and other content that have been published over the years. These need to be revised for clarity, proper SEO keywording and formatting, consistency, and tone.
  • Collaborate with our clinical and marketing teams. As a healthcare company, the accuracy of our content is paramount. You will liaison with our Clinical Manager to ensure that the content is as clinically accurate as possible, as well with our marketing team to ensure it aligns with our content marketing strategy.
  • Publish content across our platforms. You will be among the final eyes on written content, not just ensuring that the writing is the best it can be, but also that it is formatted in the best way possible. This includes publishing our content across HubSpot and Webflow, as well as on our partner’s websites.
  • Create and edit new content. As we get through the backlog of older content, you’ll identify areas where we can create new content and take the lead on its creation, working collaboratively with our in-house clinical team.
Who you are:
  • You are a meticulous editor. You have at least 4 years of experience focusing on effective content editing and writing. You are a savvy, focused editor that loves nothing more than the satisfaction of a well-written paragraph.
  • You get our brand tone. We are preparing to launch our new brand, which has a clearer tone than our current copy. You are able to adapt to our tone and help us gain more clarity on its application as we push out our new brand.
  • A lover of order: You value order and clarity in your life. When things feel like they’re beginning to spin, you’re the kind of person that slows down and goes back to the project at hand. You keep meticulous to-do lists, consistently track progress, proactively flag challenges, reiterate the importance of documentation, and are planning ahead. ,
  • A lover of great copy. You stay current on the trends that are shaping marketing content. You can balance both exceptional copy and technical keywording to ensure its SEO effectiveness.
  • An affinity for therapy: Whether through your own experience or that of a loved one, you deeply understand the power of therapy — especially in today’s world. You are fascinated by our minds, our needs, and how we navigate everyday life. You can take this personal insight and use it as a compass in this role.
Requirements of the role:
  • This is a part-time, contract position focused on helping us get our new brand live over the next three months. However, for the right candidate, we can look towards a longer-term contractor partnership.
  • Our expectation is that you have at least 4 years of experience in a writer or editor role for consumer-facing content.
  • We are a virtual-first company, so you’ll work from home. You’ll need a home workspace that allows you to focus.
  • You can live anywhere in Canada, provided you have solid internet.
We are deeply committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcome applications from women, members of racialized groups, visible minorities, Aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities, persons of any sexual orientation, and persons of any gender identity, or gender expression.
